As an avid coffee lover, there's nothing I enjoy more than exploring new cafes and discovering hidden gems. On a cold November day while exploring Graffiti Alley & Kensington Market; I stepped into Fika to escape the snow, and boy I fell in love with it at first sight.

FIKA CAFE

This charming cafe set in a quaint home with minimalist Scandinavian decor offers a unique Swedish-inspired experience that will delight your taste buds and soothe your senses.

The atmosphere of Fika is warm and inviting. The walls are adorned with beautiful works of art and old books in the back room creating a cozy and comfortable vibe, while the natural light that pours in through the large windows and the back garden illuminates the space, making it the perfect place to unwind and catch up with friends over a cup of coffee.

Fika Cafe - Kensington Market, Toronto
Don't even get me started on the wall of old books - as a bookworm, I was in heaven!

The menu is carefully curated to offer a range of delicious and wholesome dishes that are inspired by Swedish cuisine - from a range of artisanal coffees and tea drinks to sweet pastries on display that were drool-worthy.

Fika Lavendar white hot chocolate

As I perused the menu, one drink, in particular, caught my attention - the lavender white hot chocolate. I'm a big fan of lavender, and the thought of it mixed with white hot chocolate was too tempting to resist. And let me tell you, it was like a warm hug in a cup. The combination of the floral lavender and the rich, creamy white chocolate with just the right amount of sweetness was absolutely divine - a perfect choice to switch things up from your usual coffee order.

And their latte art on coffees? Oh so absolutely beautiful!

I tried their cinnamon buns, and it was hands down one of the best I've ever had - soft, fluffy, and packed with flavor. And the service was top-notch; the baristas were friendly and attentive.

What really stood out and made a cafe visit an experience, though, was the overall atmosphere. It was the kind of place where you could easily spend hours curled up with a book, sipping on a warm drink, and watching the snow fall outside. It's the kind of place that feels like a home away from home, and I can't wait to go back and try more of their drinks and pastries in their back courtyard when the sun's out.
